The pandemic has changed customer behaviour and financial health, jeopardizing the validity of existing bank methodologies overnight. At the same time government, investors and financial analysts expect the bank to lend more in an increasingly competitive landscape. Moreover, the EBA has already released in its 2020 report, documenting how bank pricing frameworks should reflect financial institutions credit risk appetite and business strategies.
Lastly, in anticipation of Post-Covid, banks are already preparing for greater scrutiny from authorities and regulators, in which they will have to explain and justify how the bank lent and if they have lent enough to fuel and support the economy.
