XR Technologies: uses cases and vision

The results achieved in professional areas by virtual and augmented reality applications are increasing the level of interest from companies for these technologies. In recent years we have witnessed the introduction of new advanced holographic and immersive viewing, new development software platforms and a revolutionary integration of XR technologies towards mobile devices by leading IT players worldwide. It is therefore foreseeable that the near future will see continuous new developments, for example in miniaturization, in the quality of the displays, in the operating duration or in the use of new communication networks such as 5G. We must, however, reflect on how these technologies can gradually improve people's lives and, in particular, working conditions "in the field". In this presentation Reply takes stock of the current "state of the art" of the technologies involved and the main use cases, analyzing future developments and trying to imagine the most disruptive application areas to increase the productivity of the workforce.
